Unfortunately my model would not register with the Marklin CS3+ and refused to be programmed either! Nobody seems to know what the problem is - I called the Marklin USA technician.
@@uttum87 I’ve had the same issue with other models (mostly ESU) and the CS3+, without any solution except going back to the CS2 (which I did).

Très sympa! Par contre si je peux me permettre je trouve qu’il y a quand même beaucoup d’espace entre les voitures… mais c’est peut-être compliqué de faire autrement avec des courbes serrées ?
C’est exactement ça. Lorsqu’il roulera dans le jardin, les courbes seront plus larges, et je rapprocherai les voitures pour un visuel plus beau. 🙂

Is the Märklin truly 1:87? It doesn’t look any smaller than the Hornby 1:76. How does their quality compare? I didn’t buy the Märklin because I already own the Hornby model and many OO carriages.
1) The Märklin is truly 1:87 and smaller than the Hornby one. 2) The Märklin quality is by far much better than the Hornby one. I own many H0 models (Märklin, Roco,…) and many OO models (Hornby, Bachmann,…). Overall, the quality of the OO models is a disaster: many models are manufactured in cheap plastic, details and painting are a mess, engines keep running off the tracks, engines need constant maintenance and care, most of the models are coming only in analog mode or digital but then with very few options,… 😔
@@PierreMaerklinFan It seems to be a combination of poor design and manufacturing. If you buy Rapido it’s a different matter… I also own many Märklin Trix Roco and Fleischmann (HO) models. The last Fleischmann HO sound locos were brilliant!!!
I can only concur: Hornby is junk, Bachmann UK is much better and Lima is surprisingly good. And nothing beats Märklin for their quality, although Roco is almost comparable. I don’t have may older Fleischmann stuff, but what I is great.

@@PierreMaerklinFan That seems to be a popular combination - youtuber Hovermotion runs the same coaches with his Märklin Flying Scotsman. I have two of these coaches for my Fleischmann Class 42 Warship.

The Marklin/Trix version is modelled as preserved and equipped for UK mainline running in 2023 so the lamps (being fixed) is ok however lamps on UK locos were part of a coding system so positions would alter, on a model that can be a problem if they are fixed. Aside from the colour and shape errors on the Marklin/Trix version it’s the size of the wheel flanges that I find really odd, it’s like the old Hornby Dublo 3 rail models from the 1960’s. No doubt the Marklin mechanism will be absolutely fabulous though. Unlike my Roco TT BR108, awful company.

the paint colour and finish is better on the hornby model. the miniature engineering is good on the marklin model but i am not impressed by some details as well as the paint finish.
The paint is indeed the main issue on the Märklin one. The lack of everything else (digital decoder, sound, lamps, smoke) is the main issue on the Hornby one.

@@PierreMaerklinFan Quindi sono una via di mezzo. Ci sono le Fleischmann Bulleid verdi che sono molto belle, in esatta H0 . Si riescono ancora a trovare su Ebay e sono accettabili anche filologicamente. Se no le Lima, ma vanno assolutamente cambiate le ruote ed i ganci e sono più approssimative

I like the Märklin/Trix more. It looks more detailed. But I never saw the real flying Scotsman, so I can’t tell how accurate it is.

Both models have their advantages. The Märklin one is however more complete: Digital, Sound, Lamps, and Dynamic smoke.

Oui tout à fait. L’édition limitée à laquelle j’ai ajouté un décodeur (qui fonctionne) et un haut parleur (qui crépite et doit être remplacé).

The crazy story is that I received this locomotive for free as the original owner gave it to me, telling me she was not in working conditions. After lots of oiling and patience, I was able to bring it to life!!! 😁😁
